Developing and promoting continuous professional development for Cumbria’s cultural sector and creative industries
We support people working or intending to work in the cultural sector and creative industries throughout Cumbria to develop their skills in order to further their careers. We are the first point of contact for skills and professional development in the creative and cultural sectors within the county of Cumbria and offer information, advice and guidance (I.A.G) on appropriate training, skills development, grants and bursaries. We also provide business skills training for creative people. So far this year (2008) we have awarded some 45 bursaries to assist creative people to access appropriate training. Our recent series of courses under the title “Create ‘08” in association with the Learning and Skills Council attracted around 80 participants in subjects as diverse as Dance, Music, Film Scriptwriting, Film Editing, Promotion, Event Management and Business Skills for Creative People. |
